Roles:
San Dao Gang (Three Bar: San means three, Dao is the measuring word, Gang means bar or thick stick): Three Bar is the highest position for a student in the primary school, only Class Monitor can be granted that title. The three red bars are printed on a small piece of plastic square.

Liang Dao Gang (Two Bar): middle level positions for students who are very good at certain school subjects such as math, literature or art.

Yi Dao Gang (One Bar): basic level positions widely available for servant-minded students. Routine duties include collecting homework and cleaning classroom.

One important duty of the Bar students is to make sure each student gets home safely after school, or to make sure he or she does go home directly without going to play somewhere else. Lu Dui (Lu means road, Dui means a row of people, a team) is the basic unit to organize the students' journey from school to home.

Some naughty students intentionally drop out the line (Diao Dui: Diao means drop out) and run away from the group. All the Bar students have to keep an eye on them all the time.
